The WSA Company

The WSA Consultancy Ltd. was incorporated on the 11th May, 1990, with the main aims of the business being to provide computer consultancy to other businesses, to act as a value added reseller of third party products (hardware and software), and to develop software products for Personal Computers and Networks.

The philosophy behind the development of software products by WSA was that the majority of personal computers, were used for word processing, database and spreadsheet applications, and that there was a substantial market for tools that could enhance the use of these applications. The slogan "Software Tools for the Office Environment" was an apt description of the companies products.

Successful products included an the STD Code Decoder product, produced under license from BT, a PC security package and a number of utility packages. These tools were simple to deploy, of a high quality, supplied with first class documentation, with easy to use installation routines and contained in attractive packaging.

Having developed numerous software products and applications WSA gained extensive experience and developed some highly advanced software techniques, particularly in the area of compressed static databases. An example of this is the STD Code database, the large number of records were contained in less than one tenth of the size of comparable products, and remained exceptionally fast. WSA also developed advanced techniques for conveying information to and from other databases, which facilitates database maintenance and origination.
